Beating the Mumbai Rains

Every year, the Mumbai monsoon tests the limits of our infrastructure. In 2026, with increasing 'Extreme Rainfall Events,' early preparation is the only way to protect your society's assets.

The Pre-Monsoon 'Big 5' Checklist:

1. Storm Water Drain Desilting: Ensure the ground-level drains are cleared of plastic and silt to prevent basement flooding.
2. Terrace Outlet Cleaning: A single plastic bag in a rainwater pipe can flood the entire top floor. Check all 4-inch and 6-inch outlets.
3. External Cracks & Dead Plaster: Use high-pressure washers to find 'hollow' plaster. Repair these with polymer-modified mortar before May 15th.
4. Lift Pit Waterproofing: Stagnant water in the lift pit is a major safety hazard. Check for seepage now.
5. Tree Trimming: Coordinate with the BMC for trimming overgrown branches that overhang parking spots or electrical wires.
